Interns will conduct research on a wide variety of historical topics
relating to western history, including ethnic and gender issues;
agriculture and homesteading; immigrant trails and railroads; gold
and silver mining; Native American prehistory and history; or twentieth
century topics such as industry and development. Historians will
use the research to write texts for historical markers and other
projects. Interns will receive an intimate understanding of important
themes in Colorado's history, as well as first-hand experience with
primary and secondary documents found in the collections of the
Colorado Historical Society and the Denver Public Library. Interested
students should be familiar with library research methods at the
undergraduate level. Undergraduate and graduate students at any
level are encouraged to apply.
