The photography and film department of the Colorado Historical
Society seeks undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate interns
with interests in photographic history, curatorship, and collection
management. In collaboration with curatorial staff, qualified interns
develop work plans tailored to their individual needs and interests.
Most internships focus on the arrangement and description of specific
collections within the Society's 600,000 item archive; programs
in exhibition development, research, and preservation also are possible.
Prospective interns come from a variety of academic fields, including
American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art history, fine arts,
geography, history, sociology, and others. Although specific requirements
may vary, each intern is expected to contribute a minimum of one
hundred hours to his or her project during each academic term.
