Public Relations Internship

Candidates selected report directly to the Public Relations Director and assist in developing and implementing publicity plans for the Society's events, programs, and exhibits. Applicants should be enrolled in a degree program with a major in one of the following areas: communications, journalism, history, American studies, anthropology, or museum studies. In addition, it is imperative that applicants have an interest in Colorado and western history.

Some of the duties include preparing and sending news releases, fact sheets, public service announcements, media advisories, and media kits; updating quarterly calendar of events and sending to targeted list; generating one "Colorado Historical Moment" to air on the weekly television program Colorado Getaways; and extending thanks to the media for all types of exposure.
