Clara Brown Internship

The Sachs Foundation, in partnership with the Colorado Historical Society’s African American Advisory Council, is accepting applications for its Clara Brown Internship Program. Internship term is 500 hours, with a stipend of $5,000.

The intern will spend approximately 200 hours working in a variety of museum divisions including: exhibition development; curating and researching the collections; collections management and education programming. The other 300 hours will be dedicated to a special project, resulting in a presentation and project summary. The intern’s educational background, interests, work experience, and the museum’s divisions needs will determine the project and specific duties.

The internship is open to African American applicants enrolled in an accredited university or college, with at least 5 years of Colorado residency. Candidates with training in history, art history, education, and other areas of the humanities are eligible. Familiarity with office procedures and computer skills are necessary.

Please send a personal statement (not more than 500 words) indicating how this internship fits in with your preparation, experience, and goals; a writing sample; resume; two letters of recommendation and official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Completed financial statement required.
