The Decorative and Fine Arts Department of the Colorado Historical
Society accepts qualified undergraduate and graduate students with
an academic background in American history, art history, historic
preservation, American studies, or related fields; good research
and writing skills; and organized work habits. Interns assist with
collections processing and documentation, collections management,
research, exhibition preparation, and basic conservation techniques.
Interns work with a variety of artifacts including fine art, graphic
art and advertising, domestic furnishings, leisure and sports materials.
There are opportunities to work on projects relating to any of the
several house museums which fall under the department's supervision.
Days and hours of work are flexible; a minimum of 12 hours per week
for one semester is required.
