          Background and History of Byers-Evans House Museum

Enjoy a distinctive house museum. Enter one of Denver's great historic homes, built in 1883 by Rocky Mountain News publisher Williams Byers and sold in 1889 to the family of William Gray Evans, an officer of the Denver Tramway Company. A short film featuring the careers of these two Denver pioneer families and the city they built can be viewed in the museum.

ArrowGuided House Tours
Monday through Saturday
Guided tours take visitors through the elegant residence, richly filled with original Evans family furnishings. Guided tours will be given on the half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The last tour of the day will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Lincoln in Focus: Original Photographs of the President and the Civil War

Among the first of his generation ever to be photographed, Abraham Lincoln was the subject of more photographs than any other person of his day. The show, drawn from the local private collection of Chris Taylor, features more than 30 original photographs of the president, his family and the Civil War taken between 1858 and 1865. Tour and tea begins at 1:30 p.m.

Enjoy tea sandwiches, scones, fruit and desserts during afternoon tea at the Byers-Evans House Museum. Visitors will begin their visit with a tour the home.
