Johnson, Everett R. Collection: 85-362. (see film negatives
& Material Culture) (Society has negative registers and daybooks).
These glass plates are from the Everett R. Johnson Studio, located
at 529 20th Avenue, Denver between 1913 and 1926. Johnson then moved
his studio to Edgewater where he operated from 1927 to 1933. Johnson
operated his studio in Denver's Five Points neighborhood as the
neighborhood changed from a white, middle-class area to a predominantly
black and Hispanic community. The collection includes rare photos
of Denver's Asian-American community as well. The photographs were
donated to the Society in 1985. 750 various size plates
Kennicott,
Eugenia Collection: Eugenia Kennicott was a self-taught
photographer who documented life on her family's farm near
Westcilffe and nearby ranches. Kennicott was born in
1883 and died in 1934. The collection consists of 65 4X4 glass
plate negatives. See Colorado Heritage (Summer
1999).
Kent, Roy S. Collection: 89.184 A small collection by amateur
photographer Roy S. Kent, ca. 1900. Misc. subject matter includes
landscape, family and friends, still life, Denver, Colorado, and
some out of state. The collection was donated by Warren L. Blanc.
A small logbook belonging to Mr. Kent is stored with the collection,

Kingery Collection: Dr. Hugh M. Kingery, founding member
of the Colorado Mountain Club, photographed the Colorado mountains.
This collection also contains photos of his wife, Eleanor and child,

Lillybridge, Charles S. Collection: (or Werness Collection)
Charles S. Lillybridge (1847 - 1935) opened his "scenic photographer's
studio" in a squatter's shack beside the South Platte River at 952
S. Alameda Ave. in 1904. The Lillybridge studio is listed in the
Colorado Business Directory under Charles S. and Allen G. from 1904
- 1910, 1912 - 1917, 1919 - 1923, and 1925. Lillybridge photographed
his immediate neighborhood and made pictures that document physical
and economic change as the area shifted from agricultural to heavy
industrial use. The emphasis of these photos is on road construction,
public work scenes, the growth of service and manufacturing industry,
transportation, and the encroachment of urban Denver on a small
rural enclave. His other broad subject is the leisure pursuits of
Denverites after the turn of the century. He photographed riverside
baptisms and trout fishing to picnics, concerts, and gypsy carnivals.
The dates of the negatives range from the 1890s to the 1920s.The

Mazzulla Collection: 86-363. These glass negatives were
accumulated by a Denver collector ca. 1930. Subjects range from
Denver to Victor cityscapes, automobile accidents and recreation,
etc. 80 4 X 5 and 800+ 5 X 7 plates
Mountain States Telephone Collection: (see also film negative
collection) Subjects included in this collection of photographs
are exchange equipment, telephone lines, road equipment, construction
sites, various Mountain States buildings, personnel, training classes,
and switchboards. The photos date from the late 1890s to the 1930s.

Norton, Uri Collection: This collection of amateur photographs
was acquired for the Society through Dale Reed, a former media librarian
who had a family connection through his grandmother with the Norton
family. Subjects included in the collection are: Bear Creek Canyon,
South Platte Canyon, miscellaneous Denver scenes, schools, residential
areas, and photos relating to the Norton carpentry and cabinet making
business. The photographs appear to be almost exclusively within
a 20 mile radius of Denver. 10 4X5 plates, 60 5X7 plates
Olmstead Collection: 88-47. This collection of glass negatives
consists of portraits, natural features, etc., made by Harvey Olmstead
ca. 1920s & 1930s. Olmstead, an electrician in Denver, was an amateur
photographer. This collection was donated by Robert Berkeley of
the Berkeley-Lainsow Studio in Denver ca. 1987. 166 4 X 5 plates
