The Chiosa Canon Railroad was organized in January 1889 by C.F. Meek and other associates of the Denver, Texas and Fort Worth. It was a four mile coal road running up Chicosa Creek from Chicosa to Forbes. It became part of the UPD&G in 1890 and, in 1899, the Colorado and Southern.
