Civil
Works Administration: the library has a great deal of material
produced by the C.W.A. in the mid-thirties. These include county
histories, guides to towns, surveys and reviews of topics such as
Denver churches, public utilities, social services, grazing and
the cattle industry, interviews with pioneers, and listings and
locations of natural features.
Dawson
Scrapbooks: Thomas Dawson collected articles from newspapers
and magazines throughout the country about Colorado subjects and
pasted them into bound volumes organized by subject, such as pioneers,
mining, railroads, crime, and romance and women. There are over
80 indexed volumes in the set providing easy access to a vast source
of Colorado and western history articles.
Ephemera:
these are materials were printed for a particular purpose,
but were not thought to at the time of their creation to have
lasting value. The Society has sheet music, brochures and pamphlets on subjects ranging from local festivals
to Zang's Brewery. The collection is divided into three parts: biographical,
geographical , and topical, covering subjects such as agriculture,
ethnic groups, military and recreation.
