 History of the Grant-Humphreys Mansion
The Grant-Humphreys Mansion was built in 1902 by James B. Grant, Colorado’s third Governor. The thirty room home was built in Denver’s “Quality Hill” neighborhood at a cost of $35,000.In 1917, Albert E. Humphreys and his wife Alice Boyd Humphreys purchased the home. Humphreys was a successful oil man. Members of the Humphreys family continued to live in the mansion until 1975. The mansion was then given to the Colorado Historical Society and the grounds surrounding the mansion were given to the City of Denver. The mansion has been designated a Denver Landmark, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The mansion offers an unique setting for business meetings, receptions and retreats.
