          Background and History of Byers-Evans House Museum

Enjoy a distinctive house museum. Enter one of Denver's great historic homes, built in 1883 by Rocky Mountain News publisher Williams Byers and sold in 1889 to the family of William Gray Evans, an officer of the Denver Tramway Company. A short film featuring the careers of these two Denver pioneer families and the city they built can be viewed in the museum.

ArrowGuided House Tours
Monday through Saturday
Guided tours take visitors through the elegant residence, richly filled with original Evans family furnishings. Guided tours will be given on the half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The last tour of the day will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Jim Milmoe CHOICE
Byers-Evans House Gallery – Admission is free
December 3, 2009 through January 31, 2010
Renowned photographic artist Jim Milmoe will showcase his photographic studies of nature, the human condition, abstractions, found art and architectural details in a solo exhibition titled Choice. The featured photographs demonstrate the range of Milmoe’s perceptive eye through his varied use of black & white, color, film and digital taken worldwide with new work from San Francisco, Las Vegas and Alaska shown for the first time.  Milmoe’s photographs have been purchased by the MoMA, the Chicago Art Institute, the Carnegie Museum and the Denver Art Museum. Special Children's Tea will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009
All teas begin at 1:30 p.m.

Enjoy tea sandwiches, scones, fruit and desserts during afternoon tea at the Byers-Evans House Museum. Visitors will begin their visit with a tour of the home, which has been beautifully restored to the 1912 to 1924 time period. Christmas decorations will adorn each of the rooms of this historic Denver landmark. $20.00 Adults, $15.00 Children 12 and under, $16.00 for Colorado Historical Society members.
