Visit the site of an 1835 fur-trading fort, and follow the paths
of founders Louis Vasquez and Andrew Sublette. The traders employed
many of their mountain-man friends, including Baptiste Charbonneau
and Jim Beckwourth, at their adobe outpost on the South Platte River. |

Fort Vasquez Museum, 35 miles northeast of downtown Denver on U.S.
Highway 85, features displays that interpret the fur-trade era.
