The "Cultural Crossroads on the Arkansas," El Pueblo History Museum has always been a gathering place for diverse people and cultures. The site includes an 1840s-style adobe trading post and plaza, and the archaeological excavation for the original 1842 El Pueblo trading post. The museum building showcases the city's history and the various cultural and ethnic groups in Pueblo and the region. The site also features the Frontier Pathways Scenic and Historic Byways Information Center.

“Song of Pueblo” Oratorio
Premier Performance, November 13, 2008, 8 p.m.
Matinee performance November 15, 2008, 2 p.m.
Experience the “Song of Pueblo” and rediscover Pueblo’s heritage. This original Oratorio, written and composed by noted playwright, composer Daniel Valdez, tells the diverse and compelling stories of Pueblo’s past through song, narration, vignettes and historical images. What is not told in song will be told in narration.
The premier performance is November 13, at 8:00 p.m. That evening a special V.I.P. reception and Cast Party, which is open to the public, will be held beginning at 6:00 p.m. A matinee performance is at 2:00 p.m., November 15, Saturday.
The price of admission for the performance is $5, $35 for the V.I.P reception and Cast Party. Performances will be held at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center Theatre. Call the Arts Center Box Office (719/295-7200) or the Museum (719/583-0453) for event and ticket information.
