                             Message from the President/CEO

Dear Friend of Colorado:

The Colorado Historical Society has been entrusted with the artifacts of our previous generations. Our obligation is to continue to collect, protect and preserve these historic items. Our charge is to present them to you and for generations to come through our educational programs, lectures and exhibits.

The Society has embarked on a new era. An era that continues to tell the story of Colorado’s rich past. As we approach this new era, we are doing so with an eye to more innovative ways to present Colorado’s past for today’s audiences.  I am proud to be a part of this new era and the Bancroft Society because the Bancroft Society so heavily supports the educational lectures, tours, publications and exhibits that we present to you at the Colorado History Museum. These are the public programs you have enjoyed and find rewarding and they are the foundation of the new era of programs that we look to enhance.

I have “staked my claim” in the future of the Society and I hope you will join me and become a major contributor. You will enjoy the benefits of the Bancroft Society described in the brochure and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are securing the past for the next generation and promoting the discovery of innovative ways to continue to exhibit this wonderful story.

The Society’s Major Gifts Officer, Tamara Durstine, will be glad to speak with you personally on how you can stake your claim. She may be reached at 303/866-4737 or by email at Tamara.Durstine@chs.state.co.us.

Join this new era and stake your claim.

Ed Nichols

President/CEO Colorado Historical Society
