Banner Bags
The Volunteers of the Colorado Historical Society have partnered with Mission Wear, a Denver nonprofit, to make Banner Bags—multi-totes made from repurposed History Colorado museum and local event banners. Mission Wear provides jobs for women who are having difficulty getting into mainstream employment due to a history of prostitution, felony, or substance abuse (www.themissionwear.org). The banners are sewn into fashionable, durable totes—meaning no two bags are alike! Plus, proceeds benefit Colorado Historical Society projects and educational programs statewide. COST: Bags are $25/small, $30/medium and $40/large.
Available at the Neusteters Museum store in the Colorado History Museum, 1300 Broadway, Denver, 303/866-4993; or at the Byers-Evans House Museum store, 1310 Bannock Street, Denver, 303/620-4933.
