Colorado First Lady Jeannie Ritter, the Centennial Committee, and History Colorado invite you to celebrate the 100th anniversary of “Colorado’s Home” with lectures, tours and family programs this summer!
Centenial Celebration at the Governor's Residence
FREE FAMILY PROGRAM. Saturday, August 2: Home Sweet Home
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From sod houses to tipis, mining camps to mansions, explore how Coloradans have lived throughout time. Join John Emhoolah (Kiowa/Arapaho) to explore a Kiowa tipi and life on the plains. The Northern & Southern Plains Indian Dancers will perform at 11:30 and 1:00 p.m.
Tours of the residence will be offered from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The Governor’s Residence is located at 400 East 8th Ave, Denver CO 80203. Parking is available at 8th and Logan in the north lot.

2 p.m. Women Who Made the Headlines
Visit the private club of the Denver Woman’s Press Club, one of the oldest press clubs in the nation. While touring the press club, hear the light-hearted membership requirements of the clubs’ founder, stories of the dynamic poets, playwrights and politicians who have been members over the years and the history of the building. The event will begin and end at the history museum and will include a three-block walk each way.
