Old Stories, New Voices Intercultural Youth Program at Ft. Garland.
Camp participants live on the grounds of this former military fort once commanded by Kit Carson and learn first-hand about the history of the frontier west, the rich culturally mixed past of the valley, and the importance of historical preservation.
Hit the Road Summer Camp
Take off each day in search of hands-on authentic experiences at some of Denver and Colorado's historic locations. These day-long walking and road adventures include pre- and post-journey activities at the Colorado History Museum, tours, workshops, snacks, and drinks. Professional transportation and supervision provided. Campers bring their own lunch.
Let's Make History
Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join the Colorado History Museum for Let’s Make History, a weekend program just for families. Activities for all ages are offered each Saturday. Free for adults with museum admission, and Saturday museum admission is free for children under 12. Sponsored by Xcel Energy, the King Foundation, and the Schramm Foundation.
Second Saturdays
Spend the Second Saturday of every month at the Colorado History Museum. Each month, we will explore a different theme in Colorado’s history with a guided tour of an area of the exhibit at 1 p.m. followed by a program at 2 p.m. The cost for Second Saturdays is $3 plus admission, and reservations are not required but can be made by calling 303-866-4686. Children 12 and under receive free admission to the museum on Saturdays, and members always receive free admission.
